John Travolta and his wife, Kelly Preston, who are still grieving over the death of their 16-year-old son Jett, are now the victims of an extortion plot. According to the Daily Mail, Travolta was contacted by two men who demanded “millions of dollars” in exchange for not selling a photograph of his dying son to the media. The Tribune, a Bahamas-based newspaper, reported Monday that police are questioning two people, “one believed to be a local politician.” Travolta’s attorneys released a statement that read: “Regretably in a time of such terrible grief there are often a few individuals who attempt to make false claims in hopes of making millions of dollars. We will never let that happen.” The statement also said that the Travoltas have “the utmost confidence in the Bahamian police and government” as it looks into the reported extortion attempt.
