The story "The Edge of Daylight" is written to show people the inside experiences of someone living with bipolar disorder, while Jacob, the protagonist suffers from bipolar I, I have drawn on my experience being a person suffering from bipolar II.
While my medications have finally put aside (for the most part), the symptoms of this devastating illness, it shows a want to stop taking medications that are so critical to keep bipolar away, one that is part and parcel with treatment of the illness. In The Wizard's case, I have never stopped taking my medications (I am on about 10 different daily meds as I write this), as I am acutely aware that a lapse in medication regimen, will 100% land me in the hospital, or even worse, the return to self harm and suicidal tendencies...
"The Edge of Daylight" is a story of 10 chapters and I will post them as they are created. I hope you enjoy this look into the awful story of Jacob, who like many of the sufferers of bipolar disorder, really does so well (and he really likes), the "highs" of the sickness, only to be destroyed by the "lows". I hope this story brings bipolar disorder and other types of mental illness to the forefront. Mental disorders are nothing to be ashamed of... they are just as 'normal' as suffering from medical illnesses...
