Ted Bundy: The American serial killer Ted Bundy managed to escape from jail twice in 1977. The first time, he jumped out of a courthouse window during a hearing in Colorado. The second time, he escaped from a prison in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, by crawling through a hole he had created in the ceiling.
Richard Matt and David Sweat: In 2015, these two convicted murderers escaped from Clinton Correctional Facility in New York state. They used power tools to cut through steel walls and pipes before escaping through a manhole cover outside the prison.
John Dillinger: The infamous bank robber, John Dillinger, escaped from jail multiple times during the 1930s. One notable escape occurred in 1934 when he used a fake gun to intimidate guards and walked out of the Crown Point Jail in Indiana.
It's important to note that escaping from jail is a serious crime and can result in additional charges and an extension of a prisoner's sentence. Law enforcement agencies continually work to prevent such escapes and bring escaped prisoners back into custody.
