Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Here's a recipe for Dad's oatmeal chocolate chip cookies:

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.

  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and then stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  6. Stir in the oats and chocolate chips until well distributed.

  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.

  9. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Enjoy your Dad's oatmeal chocolate chip cookies!
