Get help especially if you haven't been diagnosed. You need to be under the care of a psychiatrist.

People with bipolar disorder experience extreme shifts in mood, energy, and activity levels, which can significantly impact their daily life and relationships. Bipolar disorder is a serious mental health condition that requires ongoing management and treatment, and seeing a psychiatrist is a crucial part of this process.

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of mental health conditions, including bipolar disorder. They can provide a thorough evaluation, diagnose the condition, and develop a personalized treatment plan that may include medications, therapy, and lifestyle changes.

Medications are often a critical component of treatment for bipolar disorder, and a psychiatrist is uniquely qualified to prescribe and monitor the effectiveness of these medications. They can also adjust the medication dosage or change the medication if needed to ensure that the person is receiving the most effective treatment.

In addition to medications, therapy can be an essential component of bipolar disorder treatment, as it can help individuals develop coping strategies, improve their relationships, and manage symptoms. Psychiatrists can provide therapy themselves or refer their patients to a therapist who specializes in bipolar disorder.

Bipolar disorder is a complex condition that requires a multidisciplinary approach to treatment, and a psychiatrist is a vital member of the treatment team. By working with a psychiatrist, people with bipolar disorder can receive the care and support they need to manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life.

I have been under care of a psychiatrist for about 22 years, living with bipolar disorder is possible, but you need the psychiatrist to hone medication use and offer talk therapy support. For a while, I had a therapist (psychologist) in addition to the psychiatrist. I have been symptom free for about 15 years!

I have suffered from depression and seasonal affective disorder (SAD) for over 30 years. If I didn’t have the support of a therapist and/or a psychiatrist, I wouldn’t be here today.

I totally understand that as I experienced it myself.
