Being Gay Can Kill You...

Countries where beinbg gay can result in death penalty

There are currently 12 countries in the world where being gay is against the law and carries a death sentence as a possible penalty:

  1. Afghanistan
  2. Brunei
  3. Iran
  4. Mauritania
  5. Nigeria (in some northern states under Islamic law)
  6. Pakistan (in some provinces under Islamic law)
  7. Qatar
  8. Saudi Arabia
  9. Somalia (in some southern regions under Islamic law)
  10. Sudan
  11. United Arab Emirates (UAE)
  12. Yemen

It is important to note that discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community is not limited to these countries and can occur in various forms and degrees throughout the world. Avoid these countries whether you are gay or not! I am so thankful to live in Canada, where I can be myself!
