Driven like waves by the wind, the golden-orange Sossusvlei Dunes—part of the vast Namib Desert—are among the world's highest, with some dunes topping 1,000 feet. They are at their most magnificent at sunrise and sunset, when the colors and shadows shift like a living painting.
