Wise Words

Be Wise

Be Wise!Ball games
I have played Soccer, Tennis, Cricket, Squash, Badminton and the 3 most useful tips that were given to me were: -

- Put all you have into looking for a spot or other such marking on the ball until it leaves your racquet or bat ~ this prevents you taking your eye off the ball.

- It’s never over 'til it's over ~ no matter what the score is' keep cool and keep up your effort ~ don't let your shoulders drop.

- Keep your cool and don't be tempted to try too hard, 95% of mistakes are caused by trying too hard. You must practice everyday until you are able to relax and let your body do what it wants to do.

What brought these to my attention, and were emphasized in a Bob Harman tennis book, was that I played my best tennis shots when we were knocking up, when the service was out and other such stress free moments.

Be Wise!
Staying calm

Some tips to relieving stress:

-eat more fruits and veggies; limit your intake of meat, sugar, coffee, processed food, and preservatives

-drink more water(at least 8 glasses;choose warm water over cold)

-exercise regularly(take a walk for 30 minutes, you don't have to stretch too much or lift weights)

-try meditation

-help others

-give thanks for what you have; count your blessings

-make a commitment to eliminate stress in your life and act on it...get all the help you need whether it be from books, resources, other people,etc...

Be Wise!Do you know the “no-zone”?

The no-zone is the area near a semi-truck’s side and rear where cars seem to disappear into blind spots. Vehicles lingering in the “no-zone” can’t be seen by truck drivers, causing a potential hazard if a lane change becomes necessary. Tailgating in the rear “no-zone” not only hides you from the truck driver, but also radically reduces your view of traffic ahead. Also when passing, avoid cutting in front of a truck too soon, then abruptly slowing down. Because it takes longer to pass large trucks, maintain your speed and wait until the front of the truck is visible in your side rearview mirror before shifting back into the other lane.

Be Wise!Truth

There is always a little truth behind every just kidding.. (J/K!)

Be Wise!ITS TRUE!

Drinking a glass or two of wine everyday is actually good for you. A recent study says that people who regularly drink a glass of wine get fewer colds than the average person. Just don't go overboard, too much of anything is never a good thing. Apparently, it's the flavonoids on grape skin that do the trick, which means you could just eat some grapes everyday, too.

Be Wise!Clear away scratches on CDs.
For smudges and scratches on discs, non-gel toothpaste will do the trick. Just rube a little on, then remove it with a damp cloth. It may leave a few tiny scratches on the surface, but they won’t affect the sound.
