By Ramon Johnson, About.com Guide

Gauguin painting too gayArt, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder; but according to one woman's school of art, if it offends you just rip from the museum wall. A patron at the National Gallery in Washington is facing charges for attacking a $80 million painting by French impressionist Paul Gauguin.

The woman, identified as Susan Burns, was detained by museum security guards after ripping Gauguin's "Two Tahitian Women" from the gallery wall and beating it with her fists. Why not just walk out? The woman says the painting needs to be destroyed because it shows nudity and homosexuality.
