Dr. Conrad Murray will be charged with manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson within the next two weeks, reports Fox News.
A law enforcement source revealed that Jackson's doctor may be arrested as early as next Wednesday, but investigators first want to complete a search of a Los Angeles pharmacy.
They're hoping to charge him with second degree murder, but feel a jury will be less likely to convict unless there's a "smoking gun." In addition, Jackson's dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein, who admitted giving Jackson Demerol, will at some point be charged with medical malpractice, but police are concentrating on Murray for now. Murray admitted administering the intravenous anesthetic propofol to the singer just hours before his death.
Murray posted a one-minute video on Youtube Tuesday, but Broward County prosecutor Kenneth Padowitz calls it a "total PR stunt," adding, "I think what they're trying to do is humanize him, trying to make him seem like this is somebody that maybe you could know and this is not a bad guy — that's what they're trying to do."
