Ode to August

August

Ode to August, month of sun and heat,
When days are long and skies are sweet,
And lazy afternoons are spent
In shady spots with cool intent.

The world is bursting with life and bloom,
As gardens flourish in their full perfume,
And butterflies and bees flit by,
With wings aglow against the sky.

The sounds of laughter fill the air,
As families gather everywhere,
To share in games and summer fare,
And memories they'll long ensnare.

The water's warm, the beaches bright,
With sand that glitters in the light,
And waves that rush and break with might,
As surfers ride them with delight.

The sunsets paint the sky with hues,
Of orange, pink and purple blues,
And starry nights that bring a peace,
To hearts that seek a sweet release.

August, you are a month of joy,
A time when all seems to employ,
The best of life with open arms,
And beauty that surpasses charms.

So let us revel in your grace,
And cherish every moment's pace,
For you are August, month of light,
A time that fills our souls with delight.
