The Love Doctor

The Love Doctor Dear Love Doctor,

I’m afraid my partner and I don’t have enough sex. It seems we would both rather sit holding hands while watching tv! Sometimes he is randy when I am not and vice-versa. We have sex less than once a month. I’m not sure we even miss it. We’ve been together for nigh on 15 years, and our sexcapades have dwindled to almost non-existant. Is that normal or should I be worried?

Signed,

No sex please

Dear Sex,

After 15 years you and your partner have settled into a routine. How much sex is too little? How much sex is too much? How much sex is normal? I ask you these questions:

1. Do you and your partner love each other?
2. Do you spend a lot of time together?
3. Do you avoid each other?
4. Are you in a rut?
5. Are you happy?
6. Are you happy?
7. Are you happy?
8. Are you happy?
9. Are you happy?
10. Are you happy??

The answers to these and other questions you may ask each other will determine if you are having ‘enough’ sex. Do you feel that your partner is trying to put the kibosh on making love? Are you? Do you or your partner feel cheated out of sex? You don’t give your ages , but if you are a bit older, say 55 plus it is perfectly ‘normal’ to have a lower sex drive – companionship becomes more important. So think about it. ‘Normal’ isn’t for everybody! If you are happy then I wouldn’t worry about it. There is far more to life and love than sex.

Hope this helps,

The Love Doctor
