TRUE or FALSE? - 2-4-1

The squirting cucumber shoots seeds at speeds of 60 m.p.h. and higher.

The squirting cucumber, which expels its brown-colored seeds in a stream of fluid on reaching maturity, can shoot them as far as 20 feet. Squirting cucumbers are native to the Mediterranean, but can be found in sandy, hot, and dry areas in many parts of the world. The plants look like normal cucumbers, but be careful: The fruit spells gastric trouble for those who eat it (although the seeds are supposedly nutritious). This was learned the hard way by ancient Romans, who believed the squirting cucumber had contraceptive properties.

A one-man submarine was used during the Revolutionary War.

The submarine was called the Turtle and was used in an attempt to sink British ships during the Revolutionary War. Invented by Yale graduate David Bushnell, it was the first submarine ever used in combat. The Turtle was equipped with a mine and was made of oak and reinforced with metal bands. Although seaworthy, it was very difficult to maneuver and ultimately failed in its missions.
