Mid September - Summer's End

Fall Leaves and Stream

Mid-September arrives with a sigh,
A lament to end the summer's high.
The sun retreats, its warmth grows mild,
As nature dons its autumn cloak so wild.

Gentle breeze whispers through the trees,
Whispering secrets carried on the breeze.
Leaves of gold, red, and amber hue,
Dance their farewell as they bid adieu.

The days grow shorter, the nights grow long,
A melancholy symphony, nature's song.
The warmth of summer slips away,
Embracing autumn's bittersweet sway.

Gone are the lazy, sun-kissed days,
Replaced by a chill in the morning haze.
The beaches empty, the waves grow calm,
As summer's embers lose their vibrant charm.

Farewell, sweet summer, your joyous reign,
A fleeting moment, but never in vain.
Memories etched in the sands of time,
As autumn's arrival marks the end of your prime.

The laughter of children fades in the air,
As school bells ring, signaling change and care.
Picnic blankets folded, stored with care,
As mid-September brings a farewell to share.

But within the melancholy, a glimmer remains,
A promise of new beginnings, where hope sustains.
For autumn's embrace, though tinged with sorrow,
Unveils a beauty that knows no tomorrow.

So, let us lament the summer's end,
With gratitude for the joy it did send.
Mid-September bids adieu with a gentle sigh,
As we embrace the season's change with a wistful eye.
