Dickie Goodman was the first artist to use sampling and in his music. "The Flying Saucer" is from 1958 although he his probaly best known for "Mr. Jaws" back in '75. However, I suppose, remixing could be slightly different since pop music is overlayed unto each other. I do recall though that Goodman is considered the forefather to rap.
