REGINA — Fans soon will be able to wear Rider Pride on their vehicles with an official Saskatchewan Roughrider licence plate.
The new plates will be available for ordering May 19, just in time for training camp.
Unveiled at a press conference Monday by Premiere Brad Wall and mascot Gainer the Gopher, the plates feature the team logo and the phrase "Pride Lives Here." The plates are sponsored by SGI in partnership with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
"This is more than just a licence plate; this is a way of paying tribute," said Wall at the news conference. "This isn't 100 years for any team; this is 100 years for the Saskatchewan Roughriders."
