Note that the date of this original post was September 9th!
Seats (est) Before/After
Conservative 142/143
Liberal 103/76
Bloc 50/50
NDP 29/37
Green 1/0
IND 0/0
So, the only good thing that I see that came from this election was the rise in NDP and the maintaining of PC minority- however the government is actually weaker than before the election due to the loss of seats for the Official Opposition. Need to see the NDP work with the Bloc to help Liberals stop the Harper agenda - see note in red at the bottom of this post..
With the 2008, 40th Canadian Election starting the fact that the estimated cost of that election is a staggering $290,000,000.00! With 308 ridings that is an average cost of $941,500.00 for each riding! The current population in Canada is approx 33,760,000, the cost to each each man, woman and child in Canada is about $8.59 - that includes a whole bunch of our babies!
The election lasts for 36 days so that works out to $8,055,555.00 EACH DAY!
So The Wizard wants to know... What are they spending our taxpayers money on, for an election that we don't need, for an election that we don't want and an election that will get us back to where we stood before the election was called...
Please don't say "Conservative Majority!

The Way I see it there are 142 red neck ridings and 178 or 179 ridings that think normally.. it's just too bad that a red neck minority runs the country. I wish the the other three parties could work together we all have the same goals.
I agree. I hope that the 3 opposition parties make Harper ask for approval before taqking a crap!
