Disney Stained Glass
by Jamie Frevele, The Mary Sue
Mandie Manzano is a Louisiana-based artist who has created these bright, colorful, and rich stained glass-style renderings of various Disney characters, including our favorite Disney princesses. I don’t know about you guys, but stained glass is like the cannoli cake dessert of the art world for me. My eyes cannot get enough and they feel incredibly full and satisfied after looking at them. And that was my impression of an art critic in a comedy sketch. But seriously, see more of these after the jump. Your eyeballs will thank you.

Photo of giant rodent a hoax? Netizens post another photo showing 'actual' size
from Singapore Seen
Netizens have posted a photo showing the actual size of the 'giant rat' that piqued the interest of Facebook users earlier.
Based on the new image, it appears that the rat may have looked bigger due to the angling of the camera when the photo was taken.
Some have also speculated that the photo may have been edited to make the rat seem larger than it actually is.
The earlier photo posted on Facebook shows the man holding the rat that looked as big as a cat with a pair of tongs.
It is unclear where or when the photo was taken.
According to The Daily Mail, 'giant mutant rats' do actually exist.
Sightings of such creatures have been reported in the UK. Pest controllers have caught rats the size of rabbits in various parts of England and Ireland.
Those humongous pests however, are the far cry from the rat seen in the photo mentioned at the beginning of the article in terms of size.
Take a look at the gallery to see the giant rats.

Will you participate?
Hey would you want to do a climb for charity with me? Let me know ASAP as I've got to confirm numbers next week. Its at end of September, Check out the pic of the tower we're climbing. Its pretty insane, safety harnesses are supplied. Dates and start time are at the very bottom.
This amazing video, from OLE (The OnLine Engineering) site, has been making the viral rounds this week. It shows a technician with a head-mounted camera climbing a 1768′ tall guided transmission tower. OK, so he takes an elevator most of the way, but those last few hundred feet are almost hard to watch. Terrifying and fascinating/informative at the same time.
*In case you haven't realized. My climb and request for participation is entirly ficticious

The Dancing Man
46 year-old Sean O'Brien found himself the target of bullying after he boogied down at a concert. Anonymous online bullies posted the photos below on 4chan, along with the caption "Spotted this specimen trying to dance the other week. He stopped when he saw us laughing."
Luckily for us and humanity, writer Cassandra Fairbanks launched a Twitter campaign in an effort to find #DancingMan so they could fly him to LA and throw him a massive party!

Catholic Horses
A Jewish bookie was at the races playing the ponies and losing his shirt. He noticed a Priest step out onto the track and blessed the forehead of one of the horses lining up for the 4th race. Lo and behold, that horse - a long shot - won the race.
Next race, as the horses lined up, the Priest stepped onto the track. Sure enough, he blessed one of the horses. The bookie made a beeline for a betting window and placed a small bet on the horse.
Again, even though it was another long shot, the horse won the race.
He collected his winnings, and anxiously waited to see which horse the Priest would bless next. He bet big on it, and it won.
As the races continued the Priest kept blessing horses, and each one ended up winning.
The bookie was elated. He made a quick dash to the ATM, withdrew all his savings, and awaited for the Priest's blessing that would tell him which horse to bet on.
True to his pattern, the Priest stepped onto the track for the last race and blessed the forehead of an old nag that was 100/1. This time the priest blessed the eyes, ears, and hooves of the old nag. The bookie knew he had a winner and bet every cent he owned on the old nag. He watched dumbfounded as the old nag pulled up and couldn't even finish the race. In a state of shock, he went to the track area where the Priest was.
Confronting him, he demanded, 'Father! What happened? All day long you blessed horses and they all won. Then in the last race, the horse you blessed never even had a chance. Now, thanks to you I've lost every cent of my savings!'.
The Priest nodded wisely and with sympathy. "You are not Catholic are you my son?"
"No, I'm Jewish"
"That's the problem", said the Priest, "you couldn't tell the difference between a blessing and last rites".

Home Depot
Ken was installing a new door and found that one of the hinges was missing. He asked his wife Carole if she would go to Home Depot and pick up a hinge.
Carole agreed to go.
While she was waiting for the manager to finish serving a customer, her eye caught a beautiful bathroom faucet.
When the manager was finished, Carole asked him, “How much is that faucet?”
The manager replied, “That's a gold plated faucet and the price is $500.00.”
Carole exclaimed, “My goodness, that's an expensive faucet and certainly out of my price range!”
She then proceeded to describe the hinge that Ken had sent her to buy.
The manager said that he had them in stock and went into the storeroom to get one.
From the storeroom the manager yelled, “Ma'am, you wanna screw for the hinge?
Carole shouted back, “No, but I will for the faucet.”
This is why you can't send a woman to Home Depot.

Frozen Carburettor Incident:
Canadians often complain about the RCMP, but you rarely hear about the positive things that they do.
Frozen Carburetor Incident:
In the fun world of the administration of justice, not all the laughs are in the courtroom. Indeed, giggles and guffaws can erupt at almost any time or place.
For example, on a bitterly cold winter's day several weeks ago in Northern British Columbia, an RCMP Constable on patrol came across a motorcyclist, who was swathed in protective clothing and helmet, stalled by the roadside.
"What's the matter?" asked the Policeman.
"Carburetor's frozen," was the terse reply. "Pee on it. That'll thaw it out."
"I Can't." "OK, Watch me closely and I will show you. "The constable thawed the carburetor as promised.
The bike started and the rider drove off, waving. A few days later, the detachment office received a note of thanks from the father of the motorbike rider.
It began: "On behalf of my daughter Jill....."

Cardiologist's Funeral
This would be an acceptable reason to laugh at a funeral.
A very prestigious cardiologist died, and was given a very elaborate funeral by the hospital he worked for most of his life.
A huge heart covered in flowers stood behind the casket during the service as all the doctors from the hospital sat in awe. Following the eulogy, the heart opened, and the casket rolled inside. The heart then closed, sealing the doctor in the beautiful heart forever. At that point, one of the mourners just burst into laughter. When all eyes stared at him, he said, 'I'm so sorry. I was just thinking of my own funeral. I'm a gynecologist!'
The minister fainted!

Slow Dance
by David L. Weatherford
Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round
Or listened to rain slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight
Or gazed at the sun fading into the night?
You better slow down, don’t dance so fast,
Time is short, the music won’t last.
Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask, “How are you?” do you hear the reply?
When the day is done, do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores running through your head?
You better slow down, don’t dance so fast,
Time is short, the music won’t last.
Ever told your child, “We’ll do it tomorrow,”
And in your haste not seen his sorrow?
Ever lost touch, let a good friendship die,
’Cause you never had time to call and say hi?
You better slow down, don’t dance so fast,
Time is short, the music won’t last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere,
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It’s like an unopened gift thrown away.
Life is not a race, so take it slower,
Hear the music before your song is over.

The Bridge Builder
An old man going a lone highway
Came at the evening, cold and grey,
To a chasm, vast and deep and wide,
Through which was flowing a swollen tide.
The old man crossed in the twilight dim.
That swollen stream held no fears for him,
But he paused when safe on the other side
And built a bridge to span the tide.
“Old man,” said a fellow pilgrim near,
“You’re wasting strength with building here.
Your journey ends with the ending day.
You never again must pass this way.
You’ve crossed this chasm deep and wide.
Why build this bridge at the even’ tide?”
The builder lifted his old grey head,
“Good friend, in the path I have come,” he said,
“There followeth after me today
A youth, whose feet must pass this way.
“This swollen stream that was naught for me,
To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be.
He too must cross in the twilight dim.
Good friend, I am building the bridge for him.”

Don't waste the leftover mashed potatoes
The Wizard LOVES his fried potatoes!
Bacon Cheddar Potato Cakes
Recipe by Sharla Davidson
Ingredients:
3 slices bacon
4 cups cold leftover mashed potatoes
2 eggs
1 teaspoon onion powder (I like real chopped onion in mine)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Place the bacon in a large, deep skillet, and cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned and crisp, about 10 minutes. Remove the bacon slices, crumble, and set aside. Leave the bacon drippings in the skillet.
Mix the mashed potatoes, eggs, onion powder, salt, and black pepper together in a bowl; stir in the crumbled bacon and Cheddar cheese.
Form the mixture into 8 patties. Heat the bacon drippings over medium heat, and pan-fry the patties in the drippings until crisp on each side, about 4 minutes per side.
