The International Day of Pink is a day dedicated to raising awareness about the problem of bullying, discrimination, homophobia, and trans-phobia in schools and communities. The day is marked by people wearing pink clothing or accessories as a symbol of their support for the cause.
The International Day of Pink is celebrated on the second Wednesday of April every year. In 2023, the International Day of Pink will be celebrated on Wednesday April 12th. I am posting it early to give you time to get a pink t-shirt or some other things you can wear that are pink.
The Day of Pink was first celebrated in Canada in 2007, after two high school students saw another student being bullied for wearing a pink shirt. The two students decided to take action by purchasing and distributing pink shirts to their peers as a symbol of solidarity with the student who was being bullied. The idea caught on and the Day of Pink has since been celebrated in schools and communities around the world as a way to raise awareness about bullying and discrimination, and promote inclusivity and acceptance.
Posted early so you have time to buy some pink wardrobe.
