Al Harrington, best known to classic TV fans as Detective Ben Kokua in the original “Hawaii Five-0” series, died Tuesday. He was 85.
His death was confirmed by family members, who said he had been hospitalized recently after suffering a stroke.
Harrington was a Samoan-American actor, singer, and teacher. In 2018, he was the recipient of a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hawai'i Academy of Recording Arts.
