TRUE or FALSE?

The roots of tap dancing can be found in “juba,” a lively dance accompanied by hand-clapping, developed by African slaves brought to American plantations.

A juba dancer slapped his thighs when performing the dance, which also featured vigorous stomping and clicking of the heels. The first star of juba, African American William Henry “Juba” Lane, competed against champion Irish step dancer Jack Diamond in the mid-1800s. There was no declared winner.
