Hi Wizard, Wow!!! The first time I saw the Sistine Chapel was the summer of 72...The room had bare hard flooring, filthy from all the daily tourists....Fainted smoke constantly flowing though the room, from all the lite candles from other parts of Vatican...As I laid down on the floor on my back, admiring the stunning creation of picturesque paintings by Michelangelo. Vividly remembered. feeling a powerful sense his present all around the Sistine Chapel The paintings had a dull almost lifeless colors that once were done in brilliant bright and radiant colors, had been damaged from smoke...Second time I saw the Sistine Chapel was when National Geographic wrote an article in 1980 on the restoration and the different stages required to restore the colors back to the original colors of the paintings...To this day, the moment entering the Sistine Chapel left a lasting impression on a 20 year old country girl from a small East Texas town....Love the angle view....
