The Love Doctor

Dear Love Doctor,

I love my boyfriend more than anything but what he’s been doing lately is testing my patience. I don’t want to hurt him, or lose him, but I’m at wits end. You see he picked up a stray cat about a month ago, and since then he has “saved” 5 more. The house smells like dirty cat litter, there is hair everywhere. He dotes on these cats and pays little time with me. I hope you can help.

Dear Cats,

You have to tell him that one cat is enough. Too many and you’ll find that you resent him more and more. Can you allow one cat? Explain to your beau that you love him and cats, but there are simply too many of them. Compromise and tell him, one cat is ok and that’s what he needs to decide, lose 5 cats or take the chance of losing you. He’ll make the right decision. (If he doesn’t, then unfortunately he doesn’t love you as much as you love him and you’ll have a decision to make.) But you won’t know until you accost him. If you don’t he may get even more cats.
