Have Bucket List, Will Travel

PINNEY's BEACH
NEVIS, ST. KITTS AND NEVIS, LESSER ANTILLES

Both Nevis and St. Kitts were British colonies, known for their lucrative sugarcane plantations. The two islands are now a single independent nation, though Nevis is by far the quieter, as can be seen at Pinney's Beach, a three-mile stretch of white sand on the island's west coast—perfect for watching sunsets.

BOLSHOI THEATER
MOSCOW, RUSSIA

Reopened in 2011 after a dazzling renovation, the Bolshoi is Russia's most famous temple of culture, the theater where such masterpieces as Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake debuted. As part of the renovation, much of the theater's original 1824 imperial glamor was restored; the Soviet hammer and sickle that capped the façade was replaced with the original Russian double-headed eagle.

PALACE OF WINDS
JAIPUR, RAJASTHAN, INDIA

The five-story, highly ornamented Hawa Mahal, or “Palace of Winds,” was built in 1799 from red and pink sandstone. The building's ornate façade is honeycombed with 953 windows, built so the royal concubines could observe everyday life in the Old City below while concealed from the view of men.
