Interesting Lyrics

If you’ve got a heartache
Of the kind that will not pass by
Even if you don’t see the end
Of what lies around the bend
Don’t stay that way
It’s all in a day believe me
Even the best of friends must part
Even so it grieves me
Stay loose, don’t fight it
Let it take you all the way and
If it’s wrong, you will right it
Do not waste these hours away

How many times have I told you
There’s are the tears I’ve shed
Could it be that I need help
Is it maybe I’ve come undone
And one thing more
You know it don’t come easy
Even the best of friends must part
Even so it grieves me

Stay loose, don’t fight it
Let love take a holiday
If it’s wrong, you’re gonna right it
Do not waste these hours away

Soon the storm will be over
And the clouds will all pass by
To be insane beyond belief
Is sometimes the best relief
And one thing sure
Love never did come easy
Even the best of dreams must end
Even so it grieves me

Stay loose, don’t fight it
Let it take you all the way and
If it’s wrong, you will right it
Do not waste these hours away

Stay loose, don’t fight it
Let love take a holiday
If it’s wrong, you’re gonna right it
Do not waste these hours away

"Stay Loose" - Gordon Lightfoot

A long time ago, when the Earth was green
There was more kinds of animals than you've ever seen
They'd run around free while the Earth was being born
And the loveliest of all was the unicorn

There was green alligators and long-necked geese
Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees
Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born
The loveliest of all was the unicorn

The Lord seen some sinning and it gave Him pain
And He says, "Stand back, I'm going to make it rain"
He says, "Hey Noah, I'll tell you what to do
Build me a floating zoo,
and take some of those...

Green alligators and long-necked geese
Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees
Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born
Don't you forget My unicorns

Old Noah was there to answer the call
He finished up making the ark just as the rain started to fall
He marched the animals two by two
And he called out as they came through
Hey Lord,

I've got green alligators and long-necked geese
Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees
Some cats and rats and elephants, but Lord, I'm so forlorn
I just can't find no unicorns"

And Noah looked out through the driving rain
Them unicorns were hiding, playing silly games
Kicking and splashing while the rain was falling
Oh, them silly unicorns

There was green alligators and long-necked geese
Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees
Noah cried, "Close the door because the rain is falling
And we just can't wait for no unicorns"

The ark started moving, it drifted with the tide
The unicorns looked up from the rocks and they cried
And the waters came down and sort of floated them away
That's why you never see unicorns to this very day

You'll see green alligators and long-necked geese
Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees
Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born
You're never gonna see no unicorns

[New Lyrics]
Now you might think this is the ending to the song,
But I'll have to tell you friends that in fact you're wrong
You see, Unicorns are magical, so when the rain started pouring,
They grew themselves some wings and they took to soaring.

You'll see green alligators and long-necked geese
Some humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees
But if you're looking for the unicorns, don't be forlorn,
The second star to the right and straight on until morning.

Lyrics by Shel ilverstein, new verse Andrew McKee

Now, the first song just makes you think... but that "SILLY" Unicorn song, I think has a moral....

What if... When Noah was looking for the Unicorns, (acting on GOD's behalf, and he couldn't find them and that they couldn't hear Noah's call as they were 'playing silly games'...?

Could that not be interpreted into us, that is man kind (or woman -kind!), can miss important things in life if we fail to listen for what GOD has to say? After all... Since the Unicorn's were mucking about, they ended up missing the boat so it seems..(I bet that is where the saying comes from...)?

Gay Unicorns
...or maybe it was another example of homosexuals being denied their rights? After all.. gotta admit that those Unicorns had a flair for dressing up! :-) (Just a joke - you religious ones!)

From a blog I can't remember .... While reading the KJV, I had come across "unicorn(s)" (Num. 23:22; 24:8; Deut. 33:17; Job 39:9,10; Psa. 22:21; 29:6; 92:10; Isa. 34:7) and knew they were fictitious animals and it momentarily cast a shred of doubt over me about the inspiration of the Bible! Thank God this did not stop me from continuing in the Scriptures!

The bottom line in all of this is that one must be able to understand the Word of God. In regard to this, there are at least 827 words and phrases in the days of King James that have changed their meaning or are no longer used in our modern, everyday English language, i.e., suffer, filthy lucre, quick, lunatick, wax, charity, gay clothing, etc.! This is just a partial listing.
