After Alan Shepard hit a golf ball on the moon, what did his fellow astronaut Edgar D. Mitchell threw a javelin.




Yup. A makeshift javelin, fashioned from the pole of a solar wind experiment. Both ball and javelin landed in the same crater. Shepard commanded the 1971 Apollo 14 lunar mission; Mitchell was the lunar module pilot.
