A Surprisingly Good Taste Treat

A new twist on an old Canadian standby

KRAFT DINNER
KRAFT Dinner with Sauerkraut

Make 2 boxes of KD (Known as KRAFT Macaroni and Cheese to my American friends...) as you normally do, but do not add the millk, then take a jar of WINE Sauerkraut - (The vinegar sauerkraut is not as good, in fact sour cabbage sauerkraut - like Kissells, would be even better!), and put it in a fry pan with a teaspoon of butter or margarine. (Drain the sauerkraut first). Fry this for about 15 minutes, stir in the cooked KD and add some dill weed, and a touch of chilli powder. Fry for an additional 15 minutes, stirring frequently.

YUM! We call it KD - Ukrainian Style (If you are bringing it to a pot-luck, you can call it Ukrainain Style Pasta!

Don't dis' it until you dish it!

Discovered quite by accident, thanks to my partner Dwight.

--Wizard's Note: Even though I am still pissed that KRAFT doesn't put the microwave instructions on the box, I still "gotta have my KD"!

Here are the The Original Kraft Dinner No-Drain Microwave Directions:

Empty Pasta into 6-cup (1.5 L) microwaveable dish. Add 1-3/4 cups (425 mL) HOT water.
Microwave, uncovered, on HIGH 8 to 9 min. or until water is absorbed, stirring every 3 min.
Add 3 Tbsp. (45 mL) butter or margarine, 1/4 cup (50 mL) milk and the Cheese Sauce -Mix.
Stir until pasta is well coated.
