September 22nd, 2007 - The wait is finally over! Today marks the launch of the new series, Star Trek: Odyssey.

The battle against the Tholians has been long since over, and the Federation enjoys Lt Commander Roe Nevinpeace within it's borders once more. But in an uninhabited section of Romulan space, a new threat is brewing. Mysterious ships from the Andromeda galaxy have begun an invasion, and seem all but completely unstoppable.

But springing forth from the vaults of the secret Grey research facility on Deep Space 12 bring is one last miracle to help the newly-allied Romulans. Slipstream technology has the ability to enable the newest Federation starship, the USS Odyssey to traverse millions of light years in a matter of weeks. A bold mission is put together to stop the ruthless invading forces, but will it be enough to stop the vastly superior forces?

Making use of Apple's new H.264 compression codec, Odyssey will be available in two download options: Dialup Resolution ? 320 x 184 for viewers with low bandwidth, and Standard TV (SD) Resolution ?for stunning full-screen viewing with a broadband connection. The files will be smaller than the Hidden Frontier episodes, but with larger viewers and sharper picture quality and sound thanks to the new codec.

In order to view the new QuickTime files, users have several choices of free players and browser plugins. Quicktime 7.X and above supports the new codec and is available at www.apple.com/quicktime/ as a free download. If you are using a prior version, update soon. For those interested in alternate free players, we recommend QuickTime Alternative, as well as VLC Player. Both have been tested and work well with the new H.264 codec, and can be downloaded from the internet.

--Wizard's Note - being a member of theHidden Frontier discussion forums, I got to see this a few days ago. It ROCKS! All I can say to Rob Caves, et al. "Live Long and Prosper" - and keep those episodes coming!
