Here Come The Brides

Ellen DeGeneres Headed For Wedded Bliss?

Ellen and Alexandra
According to MSNBC.com columnist Jeannette Walls, comedienne Ellen DeGeneres may have a secret wedding in the works with partner Alexandra Hedison. Ellen’s people deny the rumor, but Walls claimed that a DeGeneres “insider” filled her in on the couple’s plans for summer nuptials. DeGeneres was recently honored at Nickelodeon's 17th Annual Kids' Choice Awards; she received the Favorite Voice Award for an Animated Movie, and Favorite Movie for Finding Nemo.

Perhaps Alanis Morissette Will Perform The Ceremony?

Speaking of weddings, the San Francisco Chronicle’s website tells us that Canadian rocker Alanis Morissette, who was ordained as a minister via an online course, is quoted as saying, “My fantasy would now be to marry some of my gay couple friends.” Notoriously angry Morissette is among the many celebs who have openly opposed President Bush’s support for the ill-conceived notion of a Constitutional ban on gay marriage.

C-250 Still Waiting to Become Law
Bill C-250, which would add sexual orientation to hate propaganda legislation, remains poised for adoption in the Senate. The bill was approved by a majority of MPs in the House of Commons last September but is being held up in the Senate. If the Senators do not adopt the legislation prior to a federal election being called, the Bill will die on the order paper. Egale issued an action alert to encourage supporters to contact the Senate and voice their desire to see the bill adopted. Click here.
